Fondue!!

17 Oct 2009 marked N469's first Cell Group Meeting!!  It was a blast!

We kicked it off with a traditional ice-breaker - the Blanket Game - but with a twist:

With two opposing teams, the first round involved, sending one representative from each team up to the blanket.  The blanket the blanket is let down, they had to shout out the name and age of their opponent!

Most of the time, all you hear is, "Aaahhhh!!!..."

For the second round, everyone had to introduce themselves using their Chinese names!  But Team 2 had a special weapon - Elle - 'coz her full name is, Judith Lerma Quiano Taan!!  I know...  O.o

Well, after a good time of getting to know one another better and worshipping God together, we ended the meeting with the long-awaited chocolate and cheese fondue for refreshments!!   =P

It's so good, you can't resist but help yourself
AND have a friend feed you at the
same time!!  ;o)

Credits:  Of course, this scrumptious meal wouldn't have been possible without Kathy, Gretchen and TanYaw, who bought all the stuff (fondue pots and all) early in the morning!

Verdict:
- Anything goes well with CHOCOLATE!!
- The cheese fondue we got had White Wine in it!  Unfortunately, it's not as fantastic as it sounds... Really~

Just ask HanYong - he innocently came for makeup CG, stayed for fellowship and had to "suffer" the consequences of having abundance of food on the table!   See, we ended up playing "zhong ji mi ma" and making our own "concoctions" in order to clear the food!

Well, long story short, HY has never returned for makeup since!  LOL!!

Well, thanks again, guys, for making CGM such a joy!!  ^ ^

Keith & Shermin's Wedding

Congratulations to Keith & Shermin
on their Wedding!!

Had the privilege of being invited to their Holy Matrimony and Wedding Dinner a couple of weeks back.

I knew Keith since our E245 days (my first cell group) in... 2002?!

I was still in NgeeAnn Poly studying Banking & Finance then and if I'm not wrong, he had just started work  at a Bank, having graduated from Uni.  I even remember once, I went to his void deck at night (we were both staying in Jurong West) and got him to tutor me for my exams the next day (think it was Statistics)!

Don't exactly remember how I faired, but nevertheless, am greatful to have had  known him - always cheerful and willing to lend a hand!  Thanks, bro!!

Well, the Holy Matrimony @ Hort Park had a really nice ambiance to it!

Their Wedding Dinner was held on a separate day @ Orchard Hotel.

Both locations got me driving round in circles, but it was all worth it to see the bride all dolled up in those grand gowns!  Keith also looked more cheerful than ever!  haha...

Another thing I'll take away from this:

Cherished friendships with the ET Zone leaders!!

It's where one finds laughter, fun and spirtual comfort and encouragement!

N469 is born!

2009 has been a year of many milestones for me!

One of which is the birth of:

Our FIRST and COMPLETE CG picture!!  woohoo!

It's like a new beginning... another chance to start afresh on a clean slate... a second chance to get things right...  an OPPORTUNITY!

I was really encouraged to hear from some of them as well, that they too feel it's an opportunity for them to step up!!

"Does anyone dare despise
this day of small beginnings?"

- Zachariah 4:10a (MSG)

"Do not despise these small beginnings,
for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin..."

- Zachariah 4:10a (NLT)

I'm excited to see what God can do through each of us!

Well, coinciding with Mooncake Festival (中秋节), we had our CGM with Bro Joseph's and Santy's CGs @ Braddell Hill, where we had a night telematch at one of the carpark rooftops (involving what else - pomelos!), which ended with everyone lighting up their lanturns and taking tonnes of pictures!
